Speak It, See It
I listened to a podcast sermon entitled, "You Say It, You'll See It" yesterday.
It's been a common, reoccurring theme of my spiritual life for these past few years at Bible College: what you speak is what will (eventually) come to pass, as there are two ways to talk about things - one bringing life and the other bringing death (see Proverbs 18:21).
Although I have already been totally on board with Biblical teachings on this and have seen it take shape in my life in very practical ways, you can imagine how delighted I was when I saw this in a very popular Bible story: David and Goliath.
Here is what David said to Goliath before he actually ran towards him to slay him:
So no matter what the giants are that we find ourselves facing, we are able to slay them by speaking the most powerful words in the universe by faith: God's Words of life and victory!
Be blessed as you overcome!

Although I have already been totally on board with Biblical teachings on this and have seen it take shape in my life in very practical ways, you can imagine how delighted I was when I saw this in a very popular Bible story: David and Goliath.
Here is what David said to Goliath before he actually ran towards him to slay him:
45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
1 Samuel 17:45-47
Wow! What extraordinary faith it took for David to speak that out against a giant and his army! How could he speak with such confidence? God had given him strength in his daily life as a lowly shepherd to kill both a bear and a lion. Does one young boy have the strength to kill a bear or a lion - not to mention a Philistine giant? No, no he doesn't. At least not on his own. But the life he spoke into his situation gave him strength (remembering this: Jesus is the life).
So no matter what the giants are that we find ourselves facing, we are able to slay them by speaking the most powerful words in the universe by faith: God's Words of life and victory!
Be blessed as you overcome!
