Hola Mexico!
Wow... so much time has passed since my last post, and so much has happened! So instead of covering everything you may have missed, I shall simply cover where I´m at now! Go ahead... breathe your sigh of relief. I know I did.
I am currently at my host´s home in Mexico, using her computer (which the dear, dear woman graciously offered for us to use in Español), while Wanita lies on our bed, most definitely exhausted (as am I) from the trip and the events of the day. Yesterday we began our journey with a five hour drive to Edmonton, transitioned into an hour long flight to Seattle, enjoyed a two-and-a-half hour flight to Los Angeles, and finished off with an approximately 3 hour flight to Mexico City! We were picked up this morning (Feliz Año, by the way!) at 6am, had a great Rotten Ronny´s breakfast, and drove out to Puebla for a church service at 10am and the second around 11:30. Following the service we had a SCRUMTIOUS meal at some Mexican restaurant (go figure, huh?) and then came to our host´s homes to relax. Mmm.
The two Spanish songs we sang at both churches went quite well considering our lack of practice and the use of foreign instruments (ha), though it was difficult to sing them and play keyboard at the same time! The drama went really well from what I could tell in my corner of the floor, and the ministry time after the service seemed to go really really well.
So far I love everything about Mexico except one thing: I can´t understand nor communicate with the people! At least not in their mother tongue. Guess I should break out my old Spanish curriculum sometime which I purchased and never... quite... finished... eh?
Anyway, here´s where I´m at currently: the Lord is faithful, even though I´m exhuasted. He called us all here, He has plans to glorify Himself and free the captive souls, and He will provide all we need for this trip! So tomorrow while I paint walls at the church, I´ll be pondering the love of God and the way He desires to love through me. "...the greatest of these is love."
So a great big buenos noches to all... Wanita and I are gonna get some shut eye before supper at 8, 9, 10, or 11pm. :D
In Jesus,
Cayla Schlampski ;)
